There was SO much to see! So many creative people! I took tons of pictures and came across them the other day so I thought I'd share them. I will post a few at a time since I have so many. This first post's theme is "Framed" as you may have figured out. Enjoy & be inspired! <div><br /></div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2F44pjyWlTupbeS4REw1h9NZF2L-U6HaLkeT7CeczSJVOKMtD1vuXeMs6G18FPf3RDRF3SJDnMk5f3Ixm4R_AY5PxXo0s69pLH-Aop1PyZsxz6dNGD746QVYhvLu7qsigCUIqgOZct_8/s1600/DSCN1215.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2F44pjyWlTupbeS4REw1h9NZF2L-U6HaLkeT7CeczSJVOKMtD1vuXeMs6G18FPf3RDRF3SJDnMk5f3Ixm4R_AY5PxXo0s69pLH-Aop1PyZsxz6dNGD746QVYhvLu7qsigCUIqgOZct_8/s400/DSCN1215.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587746896410936162" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS-8NtOoI5vo_TKxhc2f9EOh1euz0Y9iu49fT5jYWtP1OaZCqYRHIjr2qlUgtmd3FLqsVH7_r4JV0_INrsfppXieGCeZ3NM82sS2HAF5KziGZI62qZsqa8tpND0Q_J0trKnMyd3md66I0/s1600/DSCN1185.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS-8NtOoI5vo_TKxhc2f9EOh1euz0Y9iu49fT5jYWtP1OaZCqYRHIjr2qlUgtmd3FLqsVH7_r4JV0_INrsfppXieGCeZ3NM82sS2HAF5KziGZI62qZsqa8tpND0Q_J0trKnMyd3md66I0/s400/DSCN1185.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587746891617111250" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiggp75xNxO5TSBe8zrXXy1eRtm-pvTyxfpF5SibWtHlWIznMZdtBYrjSMgj4GGbbsI7_quil1i6M2XemIxC9sruERz17dpH7pYcJZfKiuKDZKrgsW6fYTx2Ezli5THLShlQKkv1vwrWys/s1600/DSCN1274.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiggp75xNxO5TSBe8zrXXy1eRtm-pvTyxfpF5SibWtHlWIznMZdtBYrjSMgj4GGbbsI7_quil1i6M2XemIxC9sruERz17dpH7pYcJZfKiuKDZKrgsW6fYTx2Ezli5THLShlQKkv1vwrWys/s400/DSCN1274.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587746890307817170" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjY2fiZBKrO-ijVPX_qQWS0yLLILmxD15-wrYCY5tkkfQw-gnU7xC-LBWpSvW-avWvZz_BMYbP6jx3J2jvG0p89XQUAgio-GIU43w8K70oKP-nRfGRPN25JApOKv2__VFdffc6yzzFLJ80/s1600/DSCN1216.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjY2fiZBKrO-ijVPX_qQWS0yLLILmxD15-wrYCY5tkkfQw-gnU7xC-LBWpSvW-avWvZz_BMYbP6jx3J2jvG0p89XQUAgio-GIU43w8K70oKP-nRfGRPN25JApOKv2__VFdffc6yzzFLJ80/s400/DSCN1216.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587746888848197634" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSNMb_L4dVrqvz4pRNCYXycGBAcnBobVSDFTos1OiVyRltTibDJLouijPggG1KZ632ca4SLGc8jlIXESpfDVPTBJf62IGzYElgsMG8r6ezU330dzPLeBzBOYw27WYP2OmET79sXGe9Wq4/s1600/DSCN1275.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSNMb_L4dVrqvz4pRNCYXycGBAcnBobVSDFTos1OiVyRltTibDJLouijPggG1KZ632ca4SLGc8jlIXESpfDVPTBJf62IGzYElgsMG8r6ezU330dzPLeBzBOYw27WYP2OmET79sXGe9Wq4/s400/DSCN1275.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587746884634401186" /></a><br /></div>Whitneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06960739796800942517noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1602527351466775525.post-42188059831475176002011-03-18T08:59:00.007-04:002011-03-25T14:43:48.341-04:00Revamped Letter Holder<div>Today I'm posting some pictures of my most recent project. I just finished it last night actually! The weather here was AWESOME yesterday. It gave me some motivation to go outside and paint some projects I had sitting around. </div><div><br /></div><div>The one I'm featuring in this post is a recent antique mall find. I had been looking for something to hang in our kitchen to hold mail and keys. When I saw this I knew it was perfect for what I needed in terms of practicality but as far as looks go it left a lot to be desired. </div><div><br /></div><div>Here is what it looked like when I bought it:</div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKFpf8y7sQQzVdS2FNEhSIVNpVXggEPKsiprNhsCjoHX26ctNLUCxbcCO7uOLrKmOqrk_quA2dfg8CTbNTGw7JkU1EP2E7UU_A1Ml8-HanOJ8-_OmgQAGk0UJncq7sB0_y4lPKPEV9Qfw/s1600/DSCN5411.JPG" style="text-decoration: none;"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKFpf8y7sQQzVdS2FNEhSIVNpVXggEPKsiprNhsCjoHX26ctNLUCxbcCO7uOLrKmOqrk_quA2dfg8CTbNTGw7JkU1EP2E7UU_A1Ml8-HanOJ8-_OmgQAGk0UJncq7sB0_y4lPKPEV9Qfw/s400/DSCN5411.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5585406201644120226" /></a><div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#0000EE;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: center;">I wasn't too sure what color I wanted to paint it but when my husband said </div><div style="text-align: center;">"can we paint it a color please??" I knew exactly what color I'd paint it. Especially since the 2 colors I was considering were cream or robin's egg blue. He isn't a huge fan of all the neutrals: creams, grey-greens and such that I tend to go for. So compromise was the name of the game and I LOVE the way it turned out. Thanks honey! :)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">So, first of all I removed the metal plate that read "letters" and decided to hand-paint something in its place. I started by cutting a template w/ my <a href="http://www.creativememories.com/Content/Shop/Catalog.aspx?path=/Hierarchy/Traditional%20Scrapbooking/Tools/Cropping%20Tools/Custom%20Cutting%20System">creative memories circle/oval cutting system. </a></div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtXYyK_xaB6aLXXQueSskPJbsEtveCtarvUqwEMI3BhbRwRNGlyM9lLXVvL1Wy4NgRZNHWXnCIntZSGrfBfmtEwHgB1Fk7tvLA9Ngg1OsCNtMAOZ3wAB3k1OgPQh2ddgs4WeW9xsP7EX4/s1600/DSCN5420.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtXYyK_xaB6aLXXQueSskPJbsEtveCtarvUqwEMI3BhbRwRNGlyM9lLXVvL1Wy4NgRZNHWXnCIntZSGrfBfmtEwHgB1Fk7tvLA9Ngg1OsCNtMAOZ3wAB3k1OgPQh2ddgs4WeW9xsP7EX4/s400/DSCN5420.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5585406185176545122" /></a><br /></div><div>I painted the whole thing robin's egg blue. It's kind of hard to see in this picture because it was evening and the lighting was pretty terrible but you get the idea. </div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm1P-nlGQU7DAWYzVQROP4Y5Rz_XoBejQOR91-KBfm1Y6zk2Y8HM0BM-ZJD3mv78kgblEZ30rUufzbeFoxoNfP4Mu9URqUeTMh_fs_tGNc299qvl95X4F8v5KF_zPefwCrNPCF9-PMbL0/s1600/DSCN5421.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm1P-nlGQU7DAWYzVQROP4Y5Rz_XoBejQOR91-KBfm1Y6zk2Y8HM0BM-ZJD3mv78kgblEZ30rUufzbeFoxoNfP4Mu9URqUeTMh_fs_tGNc299qvl95X4F8v5KF_zPefwCrNPCF9-PMbL0/s400/DSCN5421.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5585405081526916722" /></a><br /></div><div>I used my template to trace my oval and some other little fancies onto the letter holder. I don't have a picture of it but I created a template using a punch I had for the scallop edge. For the numbers & "Mail" I just chose a font that I liked on the computer and then used tracing paper to trace them on. Then I very carefully hand painted everything. This was the longest, but most fun part of the process! </div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZdvXWhCkyA_rIiYySMoMB_du4osyNWgS04fBEJd2dDxMANi8VeFgCFq2JsX3FfBJX9C4OZXzd7wzpkA0ERUzgyVpByCyLAPUkcuZrQgfRg0hp62o_NsVTkSXMusqs5JIJSVEJL2Ej3EA/s1600/DSCN5423.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZdvXWhCkyA_rIiYySMoMB_du4osyNWgS04fBEJd2dDxMANi8VeFgCFq2JsX3FfBJX9C4OZXzd7wzpkA0ERUzgyVpByCyLAPUkcuZrQgfRg0hp62o_NsVTkSXMusqs5JIJSVEJL2Ej3EA/s400/DSCN5423.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5585405079690500946" /></a><br /></div><div>So now that it's all perfectly painted and pretty looking it's time to mess it up! :) Ok, I lied - this might be the most fun part. I just took one of those sanding spongy things (you know what I mean right?) and sanded until I liked the looks of it. I tried to make sure to sand extra where a piece like this would naturally get worn over time. </div><div><br /></div><div>After sanding I took some brown glaze and wiped it on & off with paper towels until I was happy with it. </div><div><br /></div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYg9FemtThRSilLh0sCHp8bfBnoeqFIpBtl3QSaIjh58SnWirhF9Y5iv5NwrRP41w-oNMcGQ2UrE64ry_QqdT0dtni54wE5j7ZL2kA9v5NsKdkpwt0Nw6V_0eNWQwPNpe2Z-xXUPgP0VU/s1600/DSCN5435.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYg9FemtThRSilLh0sCHp8bfBnoeqFIpBtl3QSaIjh58SnWirhF9Y5iv5NwrRP41w-oNMcGQ2UrE64ry_QqdT0dtni54wE5j7ZL2kA9v5NsKdkpwt0Nw6V_0eNWQwPNpe2Z-xXUPgP0VU/s400/DSCN5435.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5585405071640455090" /></a><br /></div><div>It takes quite a while to do all the hand painting and I know that some people would really hesitate to sand and glaze over something that took you a while to complete but I love the look of the weathering. I think that the hand painted details look even better when a little of the paint underneath shows through.</div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJLvia-s5zoTcuxEX2SgBEhVuryxbZw1sQaDkNyE_QL4bygC80PgTj8H4zpiD0oUbLRaPCcuy2wc7xROrZ4ik1bT5r4etwkcs632OVtHQNtqCQ6mdtYE6ST_heepsc1ygcAifWG-imRdo/s1600/DSCN5436.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJLvia-s5zoTcuxEX2SgBEhVuryxbZw1sQaDkNyE_QL4bygC80PgTj8H4zpiD0oUbLRaPCcuy2wc7xROrZ4ik1bT5r4etwkcs632OVtHQNtqCQ6mdtYE6ST_heepsc1ygcAifWG-imRdo/s400/DSCN5436.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5585405062124861234" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifpyO3ZK44-MmRqlCWCvjyJP74wEprzFbk1DjS_qXXMMSCiWOPCmBR1te1uYaMYFJKVCXhIE9e8BRdE__PTf3rDOQsW5orDdtREm3ZZn2GOT4i_p5C4eKgo52FDcsYhMl0IA9rx0o4QtM/s1600/DSCN5432.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifpyO3ZK44-MmRqlCWCvjyJP74wEprzFbk1DjS_qXXMMSCiWOPCmBR1te1uYaMYFJKVCXhIE9e8BRdE__PTf3rDOQsW5orDdtREm3ZZn2GOT4i_p5C4eKgo52FDcsYhMl0IA9rx0o4QtM/s400/DSCN5432.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5585405057677157346" /></a> So, what do you think? :)</div><div><br /></div><div>Today I'm linking to:</div></div><br /><br /><a href="http://chiconashoestringdecorating.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><img alt="Chic on a Shoestring Decorating" src="http://i968.photobucket.com/albums/ae163/kstrieg/Blog%20Components/COAS-Party-Pick-up-Button2.png" /></a><br /><br /><center><a href="http://www.remodelaholic.com/"><img border="0" src="http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab229/remodelaholic/RemodelaholicPartyFriday.jpg" /></a></center><br /><br />a href="http://romantichome.blogspot.com/"><img src="http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/xx89/cindy95131/showandtellfridays.jpg" />Whitneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06960739796800942517noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1602527351466775525.post-6254783470953994082011-02-21T15:14:00.004-05:002011-02-21T15:36:59.111-05:00Homemade Bisquick<div>So today I am posting another non-decorating post. I enjoy variety in my post topics and I hope you do too! The recipe I'm sharing today can be a really big money-saver if you use a lot of Bisquick or really if you use even a little. Bisquick is pretty outrageously priced these days!</div><div><br /></div><div>In the summer our family loves to have strawberry shortcake and the kind we like best is made with Bisquick. Every time I put it in my cart I felt guilty for paying the high price for a "splurge item" so I went in search of a recipe for a homemade version. The nonfat dry milk is admittedly a little pricey but when you figure the cost per batch compared to a box of Bisquick, well, there's really no comparison.</div><div><br /></div><div>This recipe is really simple and our family can't tell a difference in taste from the store-bought version. I store mine in a modified "Whale of a Pail" ice cream container in my cupboard. This batch almost fills that size container. I mix mine in my electric mixer but I'm sure you could do it by hand as well.</div><div><br /></div><div>The recipe I'm sharing can be found by clicking <a href="http://oldrecipebook.com/makeyourown.shtml">here</a>.</div><div><br /></div><div>I hope you enjoy it! :)</div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5fIQbWADNae1_AwFfP6aAzq8jIccfZaW-RiRj0XauXIS8WpdpWZrOtvGxaCIw7NZyc1_mBtNcTY29pvqJPk3ugD0GO2hm94zdLihkDn_39pjgtx32G9aD2ls9Wqd8517g-w97wWEvayI/s1600/DSCN5300.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5fIQbWADNae1_AwFfP6aAzq8jIccfZaW-RiRj0XauXIS8WpdpWZrOtvGxaCIw7NZyc1_mBtNcTY29pvqJPk3ugD0GO2hm94zdLihkDn_39pjgtx32G9aD2ls9Wqd8517g-w97wWEvayI/s400/DSCN5300.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5576242626781724466" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbF0KqkrA4KGaJrYm_2yWLmI7ZLMvbemwhNTopH-HzI2DAOTRSUtWoHgvmdUDdi9Yo51yRllwK_2UEbfi9d-2kK3Q8CeRpDTU3WxRYecegWDoIZAMiIsPniuBagzf5RQtfJndxvKkMKXQ/s1600/DSCN5298.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbF0KqkrA4KGaJrYm_2yWLmI7ZLMvbemwhNTopH-HzI2DAOTRSUtWoHgvmdUDdi9Yo51yRllwK_2UEbfi9d-2kK3Q8CeRpDTU3WxRYecegWDoIZAMiIsPniuBagzf5RQtfJndxvKkMKXQ/s400/DSCN5298.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5576242615960403522" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzbhMSGN0V8BpTEdSJf96krTiVDacY1C_JGeJCNbrnFEJxeBEe4lkWiFk1wfrxT2GQqdW8KNVBzjVJu1qJrTJ9Vpv-Qd4M5uHYHKZhhLyxM3ULk-teyceWpSkM_a-sObt7h2_elze9sEQ/s1600/DSCN5299.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzbhMSGN0V8BpTEdSJf96krTiVDacY1C_JGeJCNbrnFEJxeBEe4lkWiFk1wfrxT2GQqdW8KNVBzjVJu1qJrTJ9Vpv-Qd4M5uHYHKZhhLyxM3ULk-teyceWpSkM_a-sObt7h2_elze9sEQ/s400/DSCN5299.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5576242610244727202" /></a><br /><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:'lucida grande', serif;">Homemade Bisquick</span></div><div><br /></div>8 cups flour<div>1 1/4 cup nonfat dry milk</div><div>1/4 cup baking powder</div><div>1 tablespoon salt</div><div>2 cups shortening</div><div><br /></div><div>Combine flour, milk, baking powder and salt. I have given in and snatched up this wonderful set of Paula Deen cookware that I have been needing........ ok wanting, since I first saw it. Isn't it just lovely?? Seeing as it is my favorite color, not to mention the exact color of my kitchen backsplash it was love at first sight. Put that cookware love together with some leftover Christmas/birthday money and the set is mine! :) In all truthfulness I have been needing some new cookware pretty badly. Ours is a set we got for a wedding gift. We registered for a very inexpensive set and we discovered that in this case - you get what you pay for. Admittedly we were pretty hard on it. It did occasionally....... ok - usually get washed in the dishwasher for it's first year or so of use. But anyway, enough w/ the confessional. Here are some pics...............</span></span></div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaHsXrzbkkdC8mqZ75EKPtLA1z-Rao1S-cLGj52SYsu2olna-0vqFyOHvcBWlNAhrDwFQ-Xut8BdUowToTnU5fPNha_bTJMoH189Kfy2D4PRAcrM_fqwaRqBeEANGpOR29dDNb2CcxHUQ/s1600/DSCN1704.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaHsXrzbkkdC8mqZ75EKPtLA1z-Rao1S-cLGj52SYsu2olna-0vqFyOHvcBWlNAhrDwFQ-Xut8BdUowToTnU5fPNha_bTJMoH189Kfy2D4PRAcrM_fqwaRqBeEANGpOR29dDNb2CcxHUQ/s400/DSCN1704.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5568086182934396098" /></a>Here is a shot of my cookware in my remodeled kitchen. I know that these wishes are a little late but better late than never right? It seems that with every new year I come up with a new list of "to do's" and this year the thing, or should I say, room that was on the top of my list was my craft room. I've gotten a lot done already but it is not finished yet. I've been browsing the web for some neat storage ideas and just decorating ideas in general for my creative space. I thought I'd share some pictures with you. :)</div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdbfRHjhc6Fhk78eDy7Ucm7cY5qh4_-haa1rhyA0J27LzZjL59s_9mOsMK6IvnQ-FO0MYVHZUzS6hr1gOwD9KbAQYtm6o5yyByvTiPkr89qP709WFIQg0gFiQwi3XMnCJ6_uCcQ_x1BFE/s1600/ss_rm3_detail2.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 361px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdbfRHjhc6Fhk78eDy7Ucm7cY5qh4_-haa1rhyA0J27LzZjL59s_9mOsMK6IvnQ-FO0MYVHZUzS6hr1gOwD9KbAQYtm6o5yyByvTiPkr89qP709WFIQg0gFiQwi3XMnCJ6_uCcQ_x1BFE/s400/ss_rm3_detail2.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5564650259809872658" /></a>I love the use of vintage and also industrial items for storage!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnEc8AckRwGDgT9gqbPpyC_yLx807OgScbWzcdfRKepwofmLzxPF2WUtOIcdbcRtAKpzvTkcF5oR_u7inVkiNbpNVmv5hblkXY3Yj_flabEjGNSgs2WQPDbP4KgWZnEqfRRrUQoMBPRjI/s1600/6a00e553a8751c883301157072b643970b-800wi.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 278px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnEc8AckRwGDgT9gqbPpyC_yLx807OgScbWzcdfRKepwofmLzxPF2WUtOIcdbcRtAKpzvTkcF5oR_u7inVkiNbpNVmv5hblkXY3Yj_flabEjGNSgs2WQPDbP4KgWZnEqfRRrUQoMBPRjI/s400/6a00e553a8751c883301157072b643970b-800wi.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5564650107895369218" /></a>This one is just so cute! I like how they color coordinated their fabric and I am loving the robin's egg blue boxes on the shelf! <div><br /></div><div>So in other news...... my sewing machine decided to stop working the other day. I was a bit frustrated until I realized that my poor little Kenny (it's a Kenmore machine. hence the name.) has never been cleaned or oiled since I've had him! YIKES! That's like 5 years! I think I should be ashamed....... So I took Kenny to the local sewing machine shop for a good cleaning. I'm excited to get my machine back and work on some projects! It's so true what they say - you don't know what you have until you lose it! All of a sudden I feel like sewing. What a cruel irony. </div><div><br /></div><div>Anyway, I've been checking out <a href="http://craftgawker.com/">craftgawker</a> and <a href="http://www.etsy.com/">etsy</a> for some inspiration. I'm not 100% happy or sad about it - somewhere in between I guess. It's always a bit sad to say good-bye to the beautiful 70 degree weather but thankfully there is much excitement in looking forward to the months ahead. </div><div><br /></div><div>I will admit that on that first "cold" day I go a little crazy. I start to crave Christmas cut-out cookies, I turn on Christmas music and have to try very hard to resist wrapping anything in sight. Yes folks - it is only November 2 and I have already asked my husband when we can put the Christmas tree up. Being the sweetheart he is - he answered with, "whenever you want to is fine w/ me." :) </div><div><br /></div><div>Another so called tradition in our house for these cold weather months is making homemade potpourri. When I smell the wonderful aroma that this stuff creates I start to feel that blissful feeling that you get this time of year - ya know? So I thought that I would share this incredibly simple recipe with you. I hope you and your family can enjoy it this season making many memories together. </div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPabe7mxDcFFqdJvaQ7IwdSPdudGkOqY9XL9nEx0nO41nICQ0Fnp3_NwsC1tZK4Obq3e4Sg2MGl_tGIjYF-i47xYEwsgEM3LWEyjlbdPhJsDRMxOzj8gal7bYi6Emln_8MOgu_hgDbkSc/s1600/DSCN1426.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPabe7mxDcFFqdJvaQ7IwdSPdudGkOqY9XL9nEx0nO41nICQ0Fnp3_NwsC1tZK4Obq3e4Sg2MGl_tGIjYF-i47xYEwsgEM3LWEyjlbdPhJsDRMxOzj8gal7bYi6Emln_8MOgu_hgDbkSc/s400/DSCN1426.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5534950403571762466" /></a><br /><div>Homemade Potpourri<div><br /></div><div>Ingredients:</div><div>-One Apple </div><div>-One Orange</div><div>-Cinnamon Sticks (about 4 per batch)</div><div>-Whole Cloves (about 1Tbsp. per batch)</div><div>-Whole Allspice (about 2tsp. per batch)</div><div><br /></div><div>Directions:</div><div>Cut up apples and oranges, put all ingredients into a small sauce pan. Add water until all ingredients are immersed. Put on stove burner on lowest setting. It doesn't take long to get a really good, strong scent. I let mine on for a while and then turn it off when the scent is strong enough. </div><div><br /></div><div>I use the same batch for a few days. Keep it covered when not in use. When things start to look kind yucky dump it and put together a new batch. REMEMBER to always keep water in the sauce pan. You can add more water when the water level gets low. Take it from me - scorched potpourri does NOT smell good. :) </div><div><br /></div><div>Enjoy!!</div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#0000EE;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=""><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#000000;"><br /></span></span></span></div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLaCYgqAnbO2XDO0uNFdLR7cHWrDxj92CfSrUuZku0prDWWVJbhdkAJ_hs_vpzaznoc9zBe7jpRAaaveJibNk9z_nBbff0Et_7XrRsoNqd3wcfVCfiGwqUJOTDNJX5Y3ZBVzVWt-hMeqg/s1600/DSCN1431.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLaCYgqAnbO2XDO0uNFdLR7cHWrDxj92CfSrUuZku0prDWWVJbhdkAJ_hs_vpzaznoc9zBe7jpRAaaveJibNk9z_nBbff0Et_7XrRsoNqd3wcfVCfiGwqUJOTDNJX5Y3ZBVzVWt-hMeqg/s400/DSCN1431.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5534950396760037906" /></a><br /></div></div>Whitneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06960739796800942517noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1602527351466775525.post-3821191191479942992010-10-27T16:34:00.003-04:002010-10-27T16:49:16.464-04:00Landscaping<div>We have FINALLY done something with the front of our house. By which I mean landscaping. On Thursday the hubs and I shoveled, mulched, planted and watered. And here are a few pictures of the end results. Although there's a lot more to do. I usually make about 10 at a time. The pendants are a little bit time consuming to make and I'm still tweaking the creation process. This time I used Diamond Glaze on the back but I've found that I don't like it as well as the resin that I used last time. Although it's much easier to use it doesn't seem to hold up as well and doesn't go on as thick. I wish I could find a product with the durability of the resin but was as easy to apply as the Diamond Glaze. Any suggestions??</div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiZYWsS5OYHzJJf1BqFSiQUpj-A-QPaXNY79RB-m49WVB99C-LdRnPr8nwVGe4tKbQEsPbCg5Q6bugi07vs2BuVG604L9KiG2N65Rm1nXfCwvMzinC4pl_VMBX475fWvgb0WiDPaJLW8M/s1600/DSCN1118.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiZYWsS5OYHzJJf1BqFSiQUpj-A-QPaXNY79RB-m49WVB99C-LdRnPr8nwVGe4tKbQEsPbCg5Q6bugi07vs2BuVG604L9KiG2N65Rm1nXfCwvMzinC4pl_VMBX475fWvgb0WiDPaJLW8M/s400/DSCN1118.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5517330525674783778" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikOhWnlqjNdfa2RSxG-s9O9g41EsWxw28KuAZiA9IIHPvW32fHwFwuPL3xRjycNUjOMlniU7IgIXB0VJTj7rCorK9lxXnpbd1N28XbbQo4_d1EU1uh9qWX6dr6Us54_bAYMSoircJJzV4/s1600/DSCN1114.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikOhWnlqjNdfa2RSxG-s9O9g41EsWxw28KuAZiA9IIHPvW32fHwFwuPL3xRjycNUjOMlniU7IgIXB0VJTj7rCorK9lxXnpbd1N28XbbQo4_d1EU1uh9qWX6dr6Us54_bAYMSoircJJzV4/s400/DSCN1114.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5517330516657698530" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYlXAFUyyrRrfpP9dzrp6N9_P8OgFp1BnoOmoDLDzqqCRorq-91rv8GhsJVZGKnv6tk0-EnEYHyDTZx6l_QGwPG1ASJvDwGvpXS67v9Zjdrz9Xj-65Ms8oZWqPl_8xkm6I62J8IRv0kXc/s1600/DSCN1115.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYlXAFUyyrRrfpP9dzrp6N9_P8OgFp1BnoOmoDLDzqqCRorq-91rv8GhsJVZGKnv6tk0-EnEYHyDTZx6l_QGwPG1ASJvDwGvpXS67v9Zjdrz9Xj-65Ms8oZWqPl_8xkm6I62J8IRv0kXc/s400/DSCN1115.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5517330510179456610" /></a><br /></div><div>I am in the process of getting my Etsy up and running. Don't you agree? :)</div><div><br /></div><div>Meet Cyrus Mark Kaufman. Born at 4:14am on May 23rd 2010. Weighed in at 7lbs. 15oz. and was 21" long. </div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>So that was the short version of the story. Here is the long version for those of you who may be interested.</div><div><br /></div><div>I always love to hear people's "baby stories" so here is ours........... </div><div>Cyrus was actually due on May 29th but I had a feeling that he would come early. For weeks prior to his birth I had been having a lot of contractions. A lot of nights I would be awake for a few hours because they were painful enough that I couldn't sleep. We even had about 3 hours of false labor a week before his birth. I wondered when he would make his appearance.</div><div><br /></div><div>Then at about 12:45am on May 23rd I woke up with some pretty serious pain. 'Just more contractions' I thought to myself. I had been so frustrated by the false labor the week before that I didn't even try to time them. I figured they'd probably stop and so I tried to go back to sleep. But they kept coming and were getting stronger. So after a little while I went downstairs to use the restroom. By this time I was in quite a bit of pain. I decided that this must be it! I made it up the stairs and woke Jeff. We called my parents to come stay with Raine and around 2am we left for the hospital. </div><div><br /></div><div>It was about an hour drive to the hospital but it sure seemed a lot longer!! Jeff drove as quickly and safely as he could considering that it was really foggy outside and he was pushing on my back to ease my pain. On the way there my contractions were pretty fierce. They were about 2-3 minutes apart by this time. I was getting a little worried that we wouldn't make it to the hospital in time! But finally we got there around 3am. We had to go in the ER entrance since it was after hours. Jeff got a wheelchair and wheeled me to the women's pavilion. They took us to our room and I got my gown on. The nurse examined me. I was already 7cms dilated. I told her right away that I wanted an epidural. (I didn't have one last time and wanted to try it this time!) They don't usually give epidurals after you are 8cms dilated so they had to work fast. </div><div><br /></div><div>Once I had the epidural everything was a breeze!! I could not believe how it took the pain away!! After having one with no pain meds. it's really hard to imagine that anything could completely take away pain that intense, but it did! A couple minutes after I got the epidural the Dr. came in and examined me. I was completely dilated. He broke my water and told me I could push. I pushed 3 times and at 4:14am Cyrus Mark was born! </div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixG4mXUk56r-ZygvQkx031cMTGm8JZrAkVVgwSJvZqqsrSXsbsA4AwDjy2DJ2dK8GqAgx8td0m_7UQVYH44jvctKwU4cB2wvNz8Jju35YUeHVRgfMqIsr-69olSlh-7cNfa5IFfe16P-0/s1600/DSCN0695.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixG4mXUk56r-ZygvQkx031cMTGm8JZrAkVVgwSJvZqqsrSXsbsA4AwDjy2DJ2dK8GqAgx8td0m_7UQVYH44jvctKwU4cB2wvNz8Jju35YUeHVRgfMqIsr-69olSlh-7cNfa5IFfe16P-0/s400/DSCN0695.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5498763800769922530" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikr66BkF83dN0mapDOZii7_RMhm-UCCcZ7lf-T1Vw504_ovm6XP2M6nqzUj2SUIKmLxXGz4sjzq9o-AxpZs6necXl3i-UgyUu2UyA9-p0QlG-6uZKeMaijEVLqkeRBd55IqY6b_rwlo7I/s1600/IMG_1542.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikr66BkF83dN0mapDOZii7_RMhm-UCCcZ7lf-T1Vw504_ovm6XP2M6nqzUj2SUIKmLxXGz4sjzq9o-AxpZs6necXl3i-UgyUu2UyA9-p0QlG-6uZKeMaijEVLqkeRBd55IqY6b_rwlo7I/s400/IMG_1542.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5498762185754358658" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuu_0agZjNLAG5JwCQMBFpiKX9-hBoP1023Yv3uxorDuVjkONC2YZzpARezkNHkIs2TZLpmGxOAFKdTZe4yuJblQNbkz5arJ7OzRXsoq1R04oERALm00IOd4_EBmR5kjWJEiwqKkOD8tQ/s1600/IMG_1547.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuu_0agZjNLAG5JwCQMBFpiKX9-hBoP1023Yv3uxorDuVjkONC2YZzpARezkNHkIs2TZLpmGxOAFKdTZe4yuJblQNbkz5arJ7OzRXsoq1R04oERALm00IOd4_EBmR5kjWJEiwqKkOD8tQ/s400/IMG_1547.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5498762182319482978" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtqI7w3rpw1fIZaC16aiUrjSwi2IbyABujRgC1E3HV-9l6q3VtvQyalKR3-y4XSj0XeSZeXFEJK3PoyoU49-m-VeCYflPN0JTF2yLz-TPVDf1q1a0apwb8rRl0cWW-UnM65SuWm-JhnsU/s1600/DSCN0699.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtqI7w3rpw1fIZaC16aiUrjSwi2IbyABujRgC1E3HV-9l6q3VtvQyalKR3-y4XSj0XeSZeXFEJK3PoyoU49-m-VeCYflPN0JTF2yLz-TPVDf1q1a0apwb8rRl0cWW-UnM65SuWm-JhnsU/s400/DSCN0699.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5498762175377629538" /></a>Big brother Raine was so excited to meet "his baby."</div><div><br /></div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0OqfeBemiP-wyTqZMZ9eAQdkmse7enyP4xcnEZYF973AyzduS1KmzPfJ_ZWZ84MchgiV1GmQTFwuFnEfl-JzymodzJmTQYdYixjrU0knmes9V74cAp-m9z8F5ANwZn-8Taaulq8dISPs/s1600/DSCN0730.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0OqfeBemiP-wyTqZMZ9eAQdkmse7enyP4xcnEZYF973AyzduS1KmzPfJ_ZWZ84MchgiV1GmQTFwuFnEfl-JzymodzJmTQYdYixjrU0knmes9V74cAp-m9z8F5ANwZn-8Taaulq8dISPs/s400/DSCN0730.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5498762166444143842" /></a>just got home. :)</div><div><br /></div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIo0oofoHltKxHM_IylK0ifOJE1f1lPHorkWxC7nxvLk4QsPD8ybeqFtT9vpZUWMaaKSxs5opkJdW5JyH4wp12SOwnQ2cjGIaiGw2MM4XRGCB-DuJIxXgVxuR5Vw9bZGR-6AjTzFGZKGM/s1600/DSCN0824.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIo0oofoHltKxHM_IylK0ifOJE1f1lPHorkWxC7nxvLk4QsPD8ybeqFtT9vpZUWMaaKSxs5opkJdW5JyH4wp12SOwnQ2cjGIaiGw2MM4XRGCB-DuJIxXgVxuR5Vw9bZGR-6AjTzFGZKGM/s400/DSCN0824.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5498762161054032402" /></a>kisses for Cyrus.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /><div><br /></div></div>Whitneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06960739796800942517noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1602527351466775525.post-17739488389808667242010-04-24T21:28:00.009-04:002010-04-24T22:18:21.545-04:00How to break a window. Part 1<div>Don't worry. Although you may not realize it yet, sometimes breaking a window is a good thing! (I wouldn't recommend telling your kids that.)<div><br /></div><div>I've had a project idea in my head for some time now (If you know me, you know that I have an average of about 1.25 million project ideas in my head at any given time) for an old window I had in our shed. I will start by saying that we have been working on remodeling our dining room (as many of you already know) and there is 1 window in there. It's kind of a focal point in the room/house but there's a small..... well maybe not so small problem. It's a VERY old window that is not very attractive and doesn't open. (Is it still a window if it doesn't open?) So needless to say, I wanted to dress it up a bit. SO enter the old window in the shed. Unlike our dining room window this one has panes, character, and is not ugly. (or at least I don't think so. :) So I thought 'why don't I hang this window in front of the ugly window?' hmmm.......</div><div><br /></div><div>After some measurements I decided that the project was a go! The color wasn't quite right. It started out a hunter green (sorry didn't get a pic before I painted! sometimes I just get a little too excited!) so I painted over it w/ a cream color. Anyway, enough w/ the neverending story. Here are some pics.........</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Let's take an adventure. Off we go to my shed of treasures!</div><div><br /></div></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVt0J9_CgGxREgIcBJL8SAa2knCZGxhBvTQ5qyPnK_h7HD8ZaxQCAJknVaHvk3BTGS39sEacSjrRQpAFjNiifjuNjk9x5N0Ys3f3VH96w14jcrR4EqpinHKK7mD2qIFkvBIPcVKFx648w/s1600/DSCN0592.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVt0J9_CgGxREgIcBJL8SAa2knCZGxhBvTQ5qyPnK_h7HD8ZaxQCAJknVaHvk3BTGS39sEacSjrRQpAFjNiifjuNjk9x5N0Ys3f3VH96w14jcrR4EqpinHKK7mD2qIFkvBIPcVKFx648w/s400/DSCN0592.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463888807786894626" /></a><br /><div><br /></div><div>Ok...... well they're treasures to me anyway. Modifications you ask? Well this window was pretty darn heavy due to all those glass panes. Plus, having a little one running around and one on the way. I didn't feel too safe about hanging this window inside with all that glass in it. This is an old window remember and that glass just shatters! It already had several cracks. The mom in me just didn't feel good about it. So.........<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0aCLFv96dbpYiNEdjYJr4xepWzaE5G4DxpOQLltb1Ry1iDQYRq5fsCwGijgEKxbS2ZIBeFeswJ-Jvq2NsPbM0g6t0MxBlkS6styXdRJgCMbuXyKTaokgfuLVjnHVu3qJKFd6Er9E_Ohg/s1600/DSCN0597.JPG" style="text-decoration: none;"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0aCLFv96dbpYiNEdjYJr4xepWzaE5G4DxpOQLltb1Ry1iDQYRq5fsCwGijgEKxbS2ZIBeFeswJ-Jvq2NsPbM0g6t0MxBlkS6styXdRJgCMbuXyKTaokgfuLVjnHVu3qJKFd6Er9E_Ohg/s400/DSCN0597.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463887597517415634" /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#000000;"><br /></span></a></div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0aCLFv96dbpYiNEdjYJr4xepWzaE5G4DxpOQLltb1Ry1iDQYRq5fsCwGijgEKxbS2ZIBeFeswJ-Jvq2NsPbM0g6t0MxBlkS6styXdRJgCMbuXyKTaokgfuLVjnHVu3qJKFd6Er9E_Ohg/s1600/DSCN0597.JPG" style="text-decoration: none;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#000000;">Here we go! Had a bit of a break in work there for a few weeks. The guys who are working on it for us suddenly got very busy at work and didn't have the extra hours to come work at our place. However we are back to work now and we are getting close to done!! YAY!</div><div><br /></div><div>So without further ado here are some updated pictures............</div><div><br /></div><div>Check out my sweet faux barn beams! I love them!! Just makes it feel so cozy in there! In this pic you can also see my little custom-built hutch. It needs to be painted cream yet but I love the details they added. I just drew a template for the scrolly design you see at the top and sides and they cut it out for me. The hutch will house our microwave as well as some baskets for storage & etc. It will also be getting some crown molding at the top. </div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtkmVYQRiao0_im3xsNfLQUGI2Q8D4vBkaGI4MBpuAEps8el07qV8hk-qOYkVxORGy1_lqL51gI38KTyBz4FkRk1753pIAhnfnvFcwsp3303r7yJs14O3eNvTq00j9NFGmvR6CmuPakg4/s1600/DSCN0580.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtkmVYQRiao0_im3xsNfLQUGI2Q8D4vBkaGI4MBpuAEps8el07qV8hk-qOYkVxORGy1_lqL51gI38KTyBz4FkRk1753pIAhnfnvFcwsp3303r7yJs14O3eNvTq00j9NFGmvR6CmuPakg4/s400/DSCN0580.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463878604463342946" /></a><br /><div><br /></div><div>Here's the sink side of the kitchen. still a work in progress. Sorry it's been so long. I am FINALLY finding time to update this little blog of mine. Just 5 weeks until our due date and time is flying by! So much to do in so little time! </div><div><br /></div><div>Anyway, here are some goodies I made today at work. Had fun making these mini cards. They're only about 3.5" x 3" but I think they turned out cute and they were really fun to make! If you have any questions about what stamps I used & where to get them just post a comment & I will get back to you. The cards are property of Country Craft Cupboard. You're always welcome to stop in a see all of our samples in person! </div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju7SUwJBn41TTbAeBqTi4xZZqpvqc0CMsFq1oNqkAJ9ESmkyzAQF5loBejQLBkQs551q0UkdXZPXadw8g05KflM8cAZ3yjywAM7HRxNR02VJXkO_Qhq2uTCpzoJ3YWHDjnVNLw8S8W4yU/s1600/DSCN0626.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju7SUwJBn41TTbAeBqTi4xZZqpvqc0CMsFq1oNqkAJ9ESmkyzAQF5loBejQLBkQs551q0UkdXZPXadw8g05KflM8cAZ3yjywAM7HRxNR02VJXkO_Qhq2uTCpzoJ3YWHDjnVNLw8S8W4yU/s400/DSCN0626.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463875390844211650" /></a><br /><div><br /></div><div>I wish this next one would have photographed a little better. Somehow life gets ahead of me and I just don't find the time to post as often as I'd like. Nonetheless here is a new post with some of my most recent projects. I don't seem to find much time to craft at home right now. Usually my time there is spent taking care of Raine, doing housework and working on our kitchen remodel. However, I am blessed to have a job that allows me to create at "work." I took my camera along today so I could show you all my creations! I was in the mood to make some tags! :) If anyone is interested, click <a href="http://www.countrycraftcupboard.com/">here</a> to visit the country craft cupboard website. If you live in the area stop in a check us out! All of the tags below plus hundreds more samples are to be found on display in store. We are a craft supply store with everything from rug hooking supplies to scrapbooking to fabric and cross stitch. </div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkjajYUEfMxkS2L18VT1vN28_CaQ7wyHvUReSKdj9F-6A6ilJWzRTYLfAmy69y4hZViZzFp0jFEkZ59RPBakRTEINwAq6H0PYRjwntjmF7P3Rr0bd-StzuP540q2JG4hLGO9r4fT1Xr7A/s1600-h/DSCN0478.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkjajYUEfMxkS2L18VT1vN28_CaQ7wyHvUReSKdj9F-6A6ilJWzRTYLfAmy69y4hZViZzFp0jFEkZ59RPBakRTEINwAq6H0PYRjwntjmF7P3Rr0bd-StzuP540q2JG4hLGO9r4fT1Xr7A/s400/DSCN0478.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5447586814783108018" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6LBvT2RXpmt5JOuIwUvhZ2Vre67-6E2KvUKXgZOwVa0w2dhDXqUFQQhbPg4gJmIuXuOT8pMK8f6o2mzj9k2rhpiXybJT88x9GFUwhaiNxofefsdXh_iatg3rF61mC8jCJqTiu_fVPbsg/s1600-h/DSCN0480.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6LBvT2RXpmt5JOuIwUvhZ2Vre67-6E2KvUKXgZOwVa0w2dhDXqUFQQhbPg4gJmIuXuOT8pMK8f6o2mzj9k2rhpiXybJT88x9GFUwhaiNxofefsdXh_iatg3rF61mC8jCJqTiu_fVPbsg/s400/DSCN0480.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5447586802262818978" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTd6gNHxA3QfD9sQR6H2d4l8YuM0R2JtPja9lXm06zsVwA3_gwJ3tLk1WkrFLX3qbLpGbV2-MgbP-ZEjV7hLVvCAaTZ0A-5Pn8tBvf1dsfVpO9dNxNb5lL34878GBl41fA66t90VrvYoU/s1600-h/DSCN0483.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTd6gNHxA3QfD9sQR6H2d4l8YuM0R2JtPja9lXm06zsVwA3_gwJ3tLk1WkrFLX3qbLpGbV2-MgbP-ZEjV7hLVvCAaTZ0A-5Pn8tBvf1dsfVpO9dNxNb5lL34878GBl41fA66t90VrvYoU/s400/DSCN0483.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5447586153701790722" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9uwH8lPPSH3krmyJf_Z1WLqF8Wu24EmXbIHRslX5g_sq198bw8NoQdrxrNuxNCdvqo3kSHofm8InyUFlQkfJwov0c0bzHeeu8wOEQjFfhZbeYbzA170gtIEF3F9x1JJf2tMnXx2qAwTE/s1600-h/DSCN0484.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9uwH8lPPSH3krmyJf_Z1WLqF8Wu24EmXbIHRslX5g_sq198bw8NoQdrxrNuxNCdvqo3kSHofm8InyUFlQkfJwov0c0bzHeeu8wOEQjFfhZbeYbzA170gtIEF3F9x1JJf2tMnXx2qAwTE/s400/DSCN0484.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5447586139543553970" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFXdRw2ku2kwnC5ZTPZyTIOMZRdpdKBRL-zfcFIwhyphenhyphenMsfKpa1lPr6a_WnyW8dDytC0zjwIG0wOPbnzutq4CGVsQo7okmKx4FhkNn8fSDzr5FkZ4wzdPVvkjV4Fobd6A0Fd49iq-LevPfA/s1600-h/DSCN0485.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFXdRw2ku2kwnC5ZTPZyTIOMZRdpdKBRL-zfcFIwhyphenhyphenMsfKpa1lPr6a_WnyW8dDytC0zjwIG0wOPbnzutq4CGVsQo7okmKx4FhkNn8fSDzr5FkZ4wzdPVvkjV4Fobd6A0Fd49iq-LevPfA/s400/DSCN0485.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5447586131325059330" /></a><br /><div><br /></div><div>Here is my mess. haha. The sun is finally shining and the sky is blue! Ahhhh..... just what I needed! Thank you Lord! :) </div><div><br /></div><div>I have lately been suffering from the remodeling blues and needed some sort of creative outlet! However, my craft room is currently buried under all of our furniture and boxes of things from the rooms we are remodeling. :( So, instead I was able to carve out some time in the past couple weeks to do some thrifting. I feel blessed to live in the area I do. We have A LOT of great antique malls, thrift stores, and flea markets! :) :)</div><div><br /></div><div>Also, if you notice - my pictures are bigger! yay! I hope to work on my editing skills soon to get my pictures to look even better but for now I'm liking the new look! Cindy over at <a href="http://romantichome.blogspot.com/">My Romantic Home</a> posted a link on a great (and simple!) tutorial about enlarging your pictures. <a href="http://www.stephmodo.com/2009/02/how-to-enlarge-photos-on-blogger-part-3.html">Click here</a> to see it.</div><div><br /></div><div>So without further ado..........</div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK-KfweDebArhyphenhyphenf0GodQZfUG3in8fZDVf4CoEpJoWy1FiesrwIz2eADhwaDHqZJHE1CZ-UvCHfpoSgatdjz6uE4vqvJ0WfV8EVLWEAZyHzXURLaWO7_jGhdy5F4ZfpORaSJofm88RC5mM/s1600-h/DSCN0460.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK-KfweDebArhyphenhyphenf0GodQZfUG3in8fZDVf4CoEpJoWy1FiesrwIz2eADhwaDHqZJHE1CZ-UvCHfpoSgatdjz6uE4vqvJ0WfV8EVLWEAZyHzXURLaWO7_jGhdy5F4ZfpORaSJofm88RC5mM/s640/DSCN0460.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444525109554412338" /></a>most of this stuff is from a local thrift store. Cindy from <a href="http://romantichome.blogspot.com/">My Romantic Home</a> contacted me the other day to let me know that I am the lucky winner in her <a href="http://romantichome.blogspot.com/2010/02/its-almost-here.html">recent give away</a>! I will be receiving the first issue of Flea Market Syle!! I can't WAIT to dig into this magazine. I must admit that I am a bit of a magazine junkie. Magazines just aren't as popular as they used to be though and unfortunately 2 of my favorites have recently been discontinued. :( So when I heard word of a new flea market decorating magazine I was so excited! And even more when I heard that I had won! </div><div><br /></div><div>Here's a picture of the cover:</div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoQlbt95yKn-wHzfmJLX5ihzxlUlrefndqcZcpra06aFcHS8dc_uspJWGbWBWEyqzhzjlzr3AkvW1HJibVlcgJdJH-aGQVGkmq5WgUfkJqcf_LtslXVqGIbIttcPGoclFd83_NpK086uI/s1600-h/flea+market+style.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 234px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoQlbt95yKn-wHzfmJLX5ihzxlUlrefndqcZcpra06aFcHS8dc_uspJWGbWBWEyqzhzjlzr3AkvW1HJibVlcgJdJH-aGQVGkmq5WgUfkJqcf_LtslXVqGIbIttcPGoclFd83_NpK086uI/s320/flea+market+style.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5441161528143984226" /></a> <div>aren't those colors just so pretty? Sorry I have gotten so behind! With less than 14 weeks until our due date I am scrambling for time to get things done and energy to do them! Well for now it's back to laundry and cleaning! Have a super day! <br /><br /></div>Whitneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06960739796800942517noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1602527351466775525.post-4922231416654855682010-02-13T17:34:00.005-05:002010-02-13T21:04:24.142-05:00Warm Paint & Pretty Floors<div>Well here we are, Saturday evening already! Another week has flown by and I am happy to report that much progress has been made in our kitchen/dining room remodel. Thanks to all of you who left such helpful comments on my last post. After much debating and deep contemplation I decided to go ahead and change up the wall color and color in the back of the cabinets. I just felt like it was a little too bold for my taste. It looked quite a bit darker in person than in the pictures I had posted and I just felt I needed something a little bit more subdued. So here are some pictures showing the new colors. </div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiok6Kuq0QvOTZxjttIfDh-ptQqeOsN9baPfUNgFy9CcUfyaCoq1hWvyEsgNpYEQiOsOkrqU3iYWoXHm8xv0ZB-l1vRiZZJd9YJEwhVD8KEllwq6LtIji-Kls1G93I5yljlOV90zKyWMAc/s1600-h/DSCN0357.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiok6Kuq0QvOTZxjttIfDh-ptQqeOsN9baPfUNgFy9CcUfyaCoq1hWvyEsgNpYEQiOsOkrqU3iYWoXHm8xv0ZB-l1vRiZZJd9YJEwhVD8KEllwq6LtIji-Kls1G93I5yljlOV90zKyWMAc/s320/DSCN0357.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5437883255450914338" /></a>I just think this wall color makes the whole room warmer! The first color was way too grey for me. I actually got a REALLY warm brown and mixed it with the brown/grey I had and this was the color I came up with. I love it! And yes, that is the new color in the cabinets. I did the same mixing trick here and just got another, much more muted blue/green paint and mixed it with what I had. I love the result. Cannot WAIT to accessorize! The cabinets above the sink and above the stove will be open/display cabinets when this whole thing is said and done. :)<div><br /></div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiu0CcDHLLf9g8_BEGzfn28av_0tEI6y0AyFKXqnhy1KBDOeGI2WlVxET_Ig1iSkXTu6k_PJ8FmBPvDRLwqKQCWZY9CIpvVmPjr7Ys_N_wYrtPPgFpWZK9maHkDpwlZUdZeeG_u_7YhEJk/s1600-h/DSCN0358.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiu0CcDHLLf9g8_BEGzfn28av_0tEI6y0AyFKXqnhy1KBDOeGI2WlVxET_Ig1iSkXTu6k_PJ8FmBPvDRLwqKQCWZY9CIpvVmPjr7Ys_N_wYrtPPgFpWZK9maHkDpwlZUdZeeG_u_7YhEJk/s320/DSCN0358.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5437883250140304178" /></a>Close up of the new colors.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFWaaTiTeuw-ikNx5qwm2vBoD4KfKMqMLpkVi9knJtLE2ICi-BiNpmWMB7KOnNBUzOQF50J8QcyHjJ87eMVGIhty0t1qf1oZON__Jc9J-L5RmBlG-D_DPNoCJvrwnczPHlfgfdAYl47G8/s1600-h/DSCN0372.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFWaaTiTeuw-ikNx5qwm2vBoD4KfKMqMLpkVi9knJtLE2ICi-BiNpmWMB7KOnNBUzOQF50J8QcyHjJ87eMVGIhty0t1qf1oZON__Jc9J-L5RmBlG-D_DPNoCJvrwnczPHlfgfdAYl47G8/s320/DSCN0372.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5437883232105972914" /></a>Here is a shot of the cabinets and one panel of the bead board. Couldn't resist putting this picture up even though it is a bit fuzzy. Raine LOVES the hardwood floors. I really worried at first that they wouldn't be very baby/kid friendly but so far so good. I'm not too sure about the color though. Someone HELP! What do you think of the robin's egg blue? Too bright? I can't tell if it's muted enough for me. We had lots of wonderful helpers and got A LOT done! Here are some pics of some of the things we've done so far. More to come. I will take a picture of what my kitchen looks like now when the lighting allows. Today I am working on moving boxes and making our house a little more livable. You really don't know how much stuff you have until you try to move it all somewhere else!! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhykDz4epNW32YQROWVVqThxnIVNDjVC33MgWqSHkIwZ7KIckUf1bNU4yABWs8atCOJySAfEHh5JX-DUbji06bOg77cS2DtzmMKN8JdKHDGA-E_vJZ8VvKSvg-EZnnMB9V4amEkKzE6Vo4/s1600-h/DSCN0251.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhykDz4epNW32YQROWVVqThxnIVNDjVC33MgWqSHkIwZ7KIckUf1bNU4yABWs8atCOJySAfEHh5JX-DUbji06bOg77cS2DtzmMKN8JdKHDGA-E_vJZ8VvKSvg-EZnnMB9V4amEkKzE6Vo4/s320/DSCN0251.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5429579593154737986" /></a><div style="text-align: center;">Cabinet doors and drawer faces are off and ready to be painted!</div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6RjQGkTcJIbP8KFzLO4K3DPJigwsiNy9j-ckcLuo257tqgZbdmolZK7Ut0fULO18XKhmoQPsd7CUXbXwCSDDX5r6ZGnQIjQdsV1HYOLAJJ9cTd3qrBh1uaPSABICrCe6OBzn4EPfwvkw/s1600-h/DSCN0253.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6RjQGkTcJIbP8KFzLO4K3DPJigwsiNy9j-ckcLuo257tqgZbdmolZK7Ut0fULO18XKhmoQPsd7CUXbXwCSDDX5r6ZGnQIjQdsV1HYOLAJJ9cTd3qrBh1uaPSABICrCe6OBzn4EPfwvkw/s320/DSCN0253.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5429579583575201890" /></a><div style="text-align: center;">Here are some before pictures. This being my first post I'm not quite sure where to start but I guess I'll just jump right in. Lately I have had kitchen remodeling on the brain. We bought our quaint little fixer-upper in 2005 - a few months before my husband and I got married. With tons of help from friends and family we have been able to do much "fixing up" of our little home with the exception of the kitchen. </div><div><br /></div><div>Our kitchen has many charming aspects to it but over time I have come to see those less and less because of the alarming lack of practicality it holds (or fails to hold!). SO, with the consent and support of my sweet but "not-so-crazy-about-remodeling" husband we have officially started on the project! Over time I have been able to save up a bit of cash and so that will be going towards my new kitchen.<div><br /></div><div>So here is the challenge: come up with some sort of plan that includes more/new storage, a place to sit/eat, a built-in dishwasher (we have a portable one now that sits in the middle of the kitchen for lack of a better place.), solution to the ugly paneling and tile walls and ceiling, all must be practical for kids and the dog AND all must fit into the 9'x20' space we have. AND all for under our budgeted amount of $3000.</div><div><br /></div><div>Sounds crazy I know........ maybe it is......... oh well. Never stopped me before. Did I mention that we have a 19 month old son and are expecting another in May? Yes, you're right. I am crazy. But I enjoy it. :)</div><div><br /></div><div>So here are some inspiration photos I found while perusing the internet tonight. Thought I'd share them. I want to go for a casual, cottage type look. I will take some photos of the kitchen, paint chips and etc. soon and post for all to see.</div><div><br /></div><div>All photos are from <a href="http://www.countryliving.com/">countryliving.com</a> unless noted otherwise.</div><div><br /></div></div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjE35gUdNPKv8h6ZzehaK4dmKVzjuEh7BXxHhRdmXuZ4IJYlKrQwBdTeQGYpu_oZW8u6U9nQKKmUSXsy3upSMeolzzY0nW-Q6FRr-ma2sx-KqcAQt5Vnoc4EJAabM3x_NqERlx2VGyqWYc/s1600-h/kit7.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 250px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjE35gUdNPKv8h6ZzehaK4dmKVzjuEh7BXxHhRdmXuZ4IJYlKrQwBdTeQGYpu_oZW8u6U9nQKKmUSXsy3upSMeolzzY0nW-Q6FRr-ma2sx-KqcAQt5Vnoc4EJAabM3x_NqERlx2VGyqWYc/s320/kit7.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5427533164123848274" /></a><div style="text-align: center;">This one's a little more modern than my taste but it still "feels good." </div><div style="text-align: center;">I plan to paint my cabinets cream like these.
